Assurance Program
Taking
The Risk Out Of Your Counterpoint Purchase. Purchasing equipment
sight-unseen can be risky. Personal mail-order transactions usually
involve cash on delivery. Sellers are reluctant to accept personal checks
and usually request a cashier's check. This is good for the seller,
but you, the buyer, have to hand that cashier's check over to the delivery
person before you can even open the box to see what's been purchased.
It could be the wrong model, the wrong color, inoperative or even a
box of rocks.
I
can take the risk out of purchasing Counterpoint equipment by acting
as a go-between and inspecting the gear and making sure it's as advertised.
Here's how it works: once you've located the piece you want, you send
a check for the agreed-upon amount to me. You can either make out a
personal check to me, or use a cashier's check payable to either me
or the seller.
At the
same time, the seller ships the component to me (not COD). I inspect
the component as thoroughly as you wish. If it is as advertised, I'll
send the payment to the seller (your cashier's check or my company check,
as he wishes), and ship the unit to you.
Two
Levels of Inspection: Basic and Complete.
When
performing a Basic Inspection, I inspect the unit's exterior visually
for damage, make sure it's what you ordered and put it into a system
and confirm that it works. If there are any obvious problems I'll contact
you and discuss them. Price for Basic Inspection is $120.00
For the
Complete Inspection, I'll also put it on the bench and inspect it internally
for any updates that have been applied, advise you of any non-factory
modifications or non-factory parts, evaluate its electrical performance,
and warrant that the product meets or exceeds its original factory specs.
If there are any problems I'll contact you and discuss them. Price
for Complete Inspection is $300.00.
While
the unit is with me, if you are not satisfied that the unit is as claimed,
you can discuss it with the seller. If the two of you are unable to
reach an agreement, tell me and I'll ship the unit back to the seller,
freight COD, and return your check to you, minus my inspection fee.
