- Mistracking or Disc Error readings. The Philips CDM-12.1 laser
mechanism tends to fail after several years. The solution is to install

- Loose tray belt. The belt that connects the tray motor to the
tray sometimes becomes loose causing unreliable opening and closing
of the tray. The replacement belt can also be purchased from MCM Electronics:
P/N 42-150 -- about $0.50 + shipping. We can install this belt for the
minimum service fee of $220 + return shipping.
